The skiing in Zermatt is split into 5 areas known as Schwarzsee, Glacier, Gornergrat, Sunegga and Rothorn and there are also the slopes of Italy's Cervinia tantalisingly close by for all the powder hungry skiers who are keen to cover lots of kilometres. Pit stops are also strongly recommended as the mountain restaurants are second to none and the perfectly placed to fill you up with mouth-watering food and a well-earned tipple during a day of exceptional skiing. Zermatt is not the best place for those new to the snow as the slopes can get very busy and many of the runs are more geared for seasoned skiers, however, the runs around Sunnegga will provide some decent terrain to improve your skills.

Intermediate skiers will find a smorgasbord of opportunities in this extensive resort with both the Klein Matterhorn and Gornergrat offering plenty of interesting blue and red runs to keep you completely entertained. Seasoned experts will be in their element in this cracking resort; you name it and you will find it here from bumps to steeps to out of this world off-piste and heli-skiing.
