The biggest ski resort in Oslo

Tryvann / Oslo

BEINNERS WILL FIND IT EASY TO USE LIFTS AND GENTLE SLOPES

Dynamic is the first word that springs to mind when mentioning Oslo. Norway's capital city has plenty to offer all who visit, with an impressive array of attractions from palatial visits to ice skating outside Parliament! However, what sets Oslo aside from other cities around the world is that it boasts its very own ski resort.

Oslo's Tryvann Vinterpark is the sixth largest ski resort in Norway with an impressive number of runs for all abilities, as well as floodlit night skiing until 10 pm each night Monday to Friday, and excellent snow conditions from December to April each year and is located at the top of Holmenkollen, 20 minutes from the centre of Oslo. The terrain park and half-pipe for snowboarders has international standard facilities and is one of Norway's largest.

Other fun winter activities include alpine skiing, slalom skiing, snow-skating, telemark skiing and as far as apres skiing goes, as you would expect from a Capital city there is plenty to do, even if you do not touch the slopes. With a plethora of bars and restaurants to choose from, Oslo caters for all tastes from art Galleries to hip and funky night clubs!

Beginners will find easy to use lifts and gentle slopes that will quickly build your confidence and the opportunity to progress quickly onto more challenging slopes. There is also an excellent English speaking ski school. While intermediates will not have hundreds of slopes to choose from, Oslo does give skiers non stop skiing through an excellent lift network and no lift queues. Advanced skiers will find skiing here average, but there are enough challenges to keep you entertained while on a short break.

Oslo is an ideal starting point for a peaceful and relaxing cross country ski break within some of Norway's most beautiful forest terrain. With a whopping 2600 kilometres of tracks of which 120 kilometres are floodlit until 11 pm, cross country skiers will be left astonished at the variety of routes on offer.
