CHALLENGE YOURSELF WITH AN ASTONISHING PANORAMIC VIEW
The Kicking Horse Ski Resort is located 6.4 kilometres west of Golden, British Columbia and it has a reputation for being hardcore. It features one of the longest vertical drops in North America. The ski area is home to large alpine bowls, long steep chutes and short lift lines. The resort was named Best Panoramic Views, Warren Miller's Best Ski Destination and Number 1 in Powder and Best Snow in North America.
Beginners who learn at Kicking Horse return again and again to experience the unparalleled conditions. Experienced skiers and snowboarders claim their bragging rights on this mountain due to the first-class snowfall and world renowned terrain. The winter season is complete with a tubing park, skating rink, and numerous restaurants, retailers and activities. There is less skier traffic compared to other resorts and lift lines are a rare sight.
The main lift from bottom to (almost) the top is a high speed gondola which allows access to the huge variety of terrain for experts at the top of the mountain. Further down the mountain it flattens out to advanced and intermediate terrain, and then mostly beginners’ territory, and if you want to remain on the upper mountain your choices are limited. There’s the slow Stairway to Heaven chair near the top that only services one ridge, otherwise your only other option is to ski right to the bottom to catch the gondola again.
