St. Moritz is Switzerland's most famous and exclusive winter resort

This resort is known as the most elegant, chic and exclusive ski resort in the world. If you are looking for amazing skiing with pure prestige and elegance, than look no further. St. Moritz will put Aspen to shame. Glitzy, pricey, fashionable and above all, this is the place to be seen. This world famous skiing destination offers five mountains with over 350 kilometres of slopes for your enjoyment, at altitudes from 1800 to 3300 metres above sea level. St. Moritz is the ski resort for an all-round winter holiday, offering an unrivalled array of different activities, including such wacky pursuits as polo, golf and cricket on snow, as well as gourmet and music festivals.

The resort itself is split into 2 distinct areas named, St. Moritz Dorf and St. Moritz Bad. The hub of the action is found in St. Moritz Dorf with its assortment of high-end boutiques, champagne watering holes and fancy bars and restaurants. For a more quieter location head to St. Moritz Bad, located on the edge of the impressive lake, and is home to many alpine pursuits such as polo and even greyhound racing!

Due to the extensive array of well-groomed pistes on offer covering no less then 9 different ski areas, St. Moritz may not be the best option for those new to the snow, as some of the village level runs are a tad on the steep side. However, you will find some gentle blue runs at Corviglia to practise on and master those turns. Intermediates will be raring to get on the slopes with a vast network if perfectly groomed reds to show off on. The resort also has some excellent cross-country trails for skiers keen to work up a sweat and if you are up for a challenge then try the off-piste run down to Monteratsch. Seasoned experts will find big challenges off-piste and on a handful of black runs scattered around the ski area. Also try out the Olympic runs at Corviglia or hunt down a guide to get stuck into the off-piste areas around Piz Nair. Snowboarder's should not be put off by the swanky vibe that surrounds St. Moritz, there is good boarding to be discovered here with plenty of natural free riding terrain and a number of board parks to play in.
