One of Europe's best kept secrets

Although the Alpine Arena of Flims, Laax Falera boasts one of the largest interconnecting snow resort complexes in the Alps, it is also one of the least known. Flims is perhaps the more Swiss; Laax is a pure ski vacation experience; and Falera is best suited for those who want skiing and solitude. 2 hours away from Zurich airport this resort complex offers guests the choice to be as active or relaxed as they wish. It is hard to describe the feeling one gets looking out at the incredible expanse of ski area that surrounds you when looking out from the station at the top of the Crap Sogn Gion cable car that rises from Laax. This is a wide-open area that cries out for all-day skiing and is suited for all ski levels, offering a staggering 220 kilometres of downhill runs, with the longest being 14 kilometres from Vorab Glacier and back to Flims.

Flims Laax Falera is considered to be the snowboarding Mecca. No other winter sports region offers so many possibilities to go wild on the board and to improve your skills. And no other region makes more of an effort to best prepare the pistes and pipes, with three monster-pipes inviting you to explore the daring airs and rail-parks with varying degrees of difficulty. The monster-pipes and an extensive snowboard park make Laax the number one place for freestylers in Europe. On top of that, numerous powder snow slopes will invite you to throw in a few wide turns and big airs.

There are also many other winter activities on offer, such as carving, cross country skiing, skating, sledding, curling, winter hiking and paragliding. For lovers of culinary delights, the Elephant restaurant is a must, 2500 metres up in the surrounding mountains. For excellent après ski you can visit the Crap Bar, located in the Iglu, the Pub or the Stenna Bar.flims_polaroids

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
