Livigno boasts modern ski lifts and well prepared pistes whilst retaining the traditional rustic character of its three villages

Livigno is a high altitude ski resort and a duty-free haven set along the Valtellina alpine valley, offerring plenty of entertainment and accommodation catering for all tastes and pockets . The resort has retained much of its traditional architecture and consists of three villages namely, San Antonia - in the resort centre, San Rocco to the south and Santa Maria to the north. The ski area covers both sides of the resort, offering a good variety of snow sure skiing, easily accessible from a super-efficient modern lift system. The west facing slopes comprise Costaccia and Carosello both accessible from the valley floor and Mottolino, on the opposite side is reached by the gondola from Teola. The ski area is an intermediates playground with a host of interlinked red runs to conquer. For experts in search of steep and deep powder, you will not find a great deal without the help of a local guide, however there are some black runs off Monte delle Neve but not enough to keep the seasoned expert entertained. You could also head to St. Moritz for a day, and a lift pass bought from Livigno usually includes one day at this famous Swiss resort.

Snowboarders of all abilities will enjoy Livigno from the excellent array of nursery slopes to free riding opportunities that are available. There is 70 kilometres of usable terrain as well as board park at Mottolino with halfpipe and ski jump for you to show off your tricks. Off the slopes Livigno offers value for money so you will find lots of reasonable eateries and bars throughout town. For a cheeky tipple head to the Umbrella bar near the centre of the resort, Galli's pub, lovely referred to as party central! or Kuhstall for live music. Other winter attractions include skating, tobogganing, horse riding, sleigh rides, skidoos, dog sledging, paragliding, ice climbing, snow shoe excursions, spa centres and ice driving.livigno_polaroids

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
