Nassfeld has some of the biggest and best skiing in the region and a unique atmosphere

Nassfeld sits on the border of Austria and Italy in the Carnic Alps. Part of the Skiarena Kärnten, the largest ski area in Carinthia, this is a resort of stunning natural beauty offering a good variety of snow terrain. With a World Cup skiing piste, Carinthia's largest cross-country trail system and ice sports on nearby Lake Weissensee, Nassfeld offers a great range of different sports to enjoy. Lifts serve the pistes well here, particularly the fast and comfortable Millennium Express gondola, allowing confident skiers and snowboarders to cover plenty of pistes. Reliable snow cover can be found at low altitudes in this Eastern Alpine corner. This, coupled with fine snow making facilities, gives Nassfeld one of the best snow records in the Alps.

Beginners are well catered for in Nassfeld. The nursery slopes in the Sonnleiten ski village are extensive, wide and shallow, allowing for plenty of space to gain confidence. Nassfeld Ski and Snowboard School has plenty of English-speaking tutors.

Well over half of Nassfeld's pistes are graded red, perfect for intermediates. Most will find that there is plenty to keep them entertained and challenged. Freestyle skiers and snowboarders will be pleased with the terrain park, boasting quarter pipes, kickers and table tops.

Some of the tougher red runs, coupled with the small number of black pistes, will provide some fun challenges for the advanced skier. There is enough terrain for a long weekend, but experts will want to head off-piste during a longer holiday. Snowboarders will want to visit Nassfeld's snow park - host of the 2004 Junior World Championships.

The special Kids Academy is a great place for children to learn to ski and snowboard in Nassfeld. The English-speaking tutors and gentle nursery slopes will allow children plenty of space to develop their skills. The BOBO-Club provides care for children as young as 2 years old.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
