One of the most happening ski spots in Europe

Obertauern has developed an international reputation for being one of the finest skiing destinations in Europe. And while this Austrian hotspot suits all levels of skiers, many visitors often comment that Obertauern is perhaps at its peak with intermediate skiers. An Alpine paradise, Obertauern ski resort is situated at the top of the Radstadter Pass, a vertical study of Austria's more diverse mountains that sits at 2,350 metres above sea level and the opportunity to ski the north side and return via the south side, or vice versa, on the quality pistes which surround Obertauern is popular with skiers of all abilities.

The snow conditions are second to none, and the region boasts a long winter ski season resulting in the ultimate winter experience, where snow is guaranteed. This means for you: ideal skiing conditions from the end of November to the beginning of May. So your adventure in Obertauern can start before the first snowflakes have fallen or the last snow has melted away, compared to everywhere else.

Snowboarders have a special meeting point at the 4-seater chairlift on the Kehrkopf. You will also find here an attractive funpark called Longplaypark, which fascinates all snowboarders, because there is something for everyone: from big kickers, rails, VW Bully, beginner lines to the fat corner.

After a day on the slopes there are wild and lively parties frequently in Obertauern, accompanied by lots of beer drinking. The resort offers a variety of bars and some shops along with a great selection of traditional Austrian restaurants to suit all tastes. There is also a newly built sports centre, which has courts for tennis and squash, a bowling alley, fitness centre, sauna, bar and much more, all under the one roof.Obertauern_polaroids
